  A: To replace the Crankshaft Timing Chain tensioner, start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and removing the Timing Chain housing. Remove the spark plugs to allow the Crankshaft turn for timing mark, and make sure that they are properly aligned before you disassemble. Do not rotate the camshafts and Crankshaft once the Timing Chain tensioner has been removed to avoid valve and pistons. Turn the Crankshaft until the number 1 cylinder is at top dead center (TDC) during the compression stroke and the keyway of the Crankshaft lines with a mark on the engine block, the arrow on the idler sprocket is on upward, and the guide pins on the Camshaft sprockets are aligned with the notches on the Cylinder Head.
