The first step for replacing the hood primary and secondary latch begins with opening the hood then removing the bolts which hold the Hood Latch assembly to the Hood Latch support. You must first detach the Hood Latch release cable from the Hood Latch before extracting the Hood Latch assembly out of its position on the Hood Latch support . Install the Hood Latch release cable to the latch assembly then position the latch correctly on the vehicle. Fasten the bolts that retain the latch into position then tighten them to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). After positioning the hood closed perform a latch operation check before making any necessary adjustments.
