    A: To replace the Catalytic Converter of an awd vehicle, always protect yourself with goggles and gloves to avoid damage from rust and sharpness and allow the exhaust system to cool before starting. Begin by lifting the vehicle and support the Catalytic Converter assembly. Now disconnect the 3 Oxygen Sensor electrical connections and clips, then take the nuts off the Muffler flange bolts and Exhaust Manifold studs on the right and left sides, disconnecting the collars as you do so. Only slide off the Catalytic Converter assembly hanger from the both the Transfer Case and from the Catalytic Converter; slip off the assembly from the Muffler and the exhaust manifolds while being careful not to damage the oxygen sensors. Lower the rear of Catalytic Converter assembly, move it to the rear of the vehicle and rotate it to lower it behind the Transfer Case support crossmember. Unplug the oxygen sensors from the Catalytic Converter assembly. For installation, all parts of exhaust system must insid ownership must meet oem standards for effective operation of vehicles. Inspecting the exhaust system, align it as it has to be vat and for the alignment of all bolts or nuts loosen, thereafter tighten them in a front to rear pattern. Replace broken hangers, brackets and clamps. Mount the oxygen sensors to the Catalytic Converter assembly, and lift and turn the assembly into place with the left Exhaust Pipe directed between the Torsion Bar and the transmission. Loosely install the collar and nuts onto the Exhaust Manifold studs on both sides, then connect and loosely install the Catalytic Converter assembly and gasket to the Muffler assembly, and into the pas Exhaust Pipe. Mount the Catalytic Converter assembly hanger on the assembly and on the Transfer Case. Tighten the Exhaust Manifold nuts with the correct proceduretightening the catalytic assembly-to Exhaust Manifold nuts to 53 nm (39 ft. Lbs.)tightening the hanger-to-transfer case bolts to 55 nm (40 ft. Lbs.), andtightening the assembly-to-muffler assembly nuts to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Finally, re-install the 3 Oxygen Sensor electrical connections and clips, take away the support from Catalytic Converter assembly, lower the vehicle.
