How to Replace a Brake Light Switch on 2002 Buick Park Avenue?

Begin the stop lamp switch replacement by taking out the left sound insulation piece. First rotate the stop lamp/ABS/shift lock switch counterclockwise until you can pull it out. Then remove its electrical connector. Before installation check that the stop lamp switch has automatic adjustment capabilities while in its fully locked position because the twist lock type switch maintains its position without any additional settings after final lock. Insert the stop lamp switch into the retainer while pressing it until the switch plunger completely enters the switch barrel. First press the lever clockwise until it achieves full locking position. Reinstall the sound insulator following the connection of the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch.
