Release the retaining clip before you can take out the fuel level sensor by pressing on its locking tangs. The installation of the fuel level sensor starts with placing it in its proper location and fastening it with the retaining clip. Reconnect the fuel pump electrical connector followed by the installation of the fuel sender assembly after hooking up the fuel level sensor electrical connector and its retaining clip.
