  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: To replace the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, you first shut off the engine, remove the negative battery terminal while weakening the coolant below the ect sensor. Remove the ect sensor electrical connector, similarly pull off the Drive Belt, generator and carefully remove the ect sensor . For installation if you are using the original sensor, or a new sensor, there is no need for a sealant, use thread sealer p/n 12346004 or equivalent. Replace the generator and the Drive Belt, connect the negative battery terminal, and add engine coolant.
