2002 GMC Envoy Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the evaporator core-auxiliary on 2002 GMC Envoy?
A: With the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) test all connections of the component before starting service or repair of the Evaporator core-auxiliary. Start by taking away both the Heater Core-auxiliary then continue by removing the inverted torx studs attached to the Evaporator block-auxiliary. Detach the backing plate off the Evaporator core before taking out screws from both the blower motor control processor-auxiliary and the Evaporator core itself. Recognize the hvac module-auxiliary case sump by removing its screws and then disassemble it from the assembly. Evacuate the hvac module-auxiliary unit to access the Evaporator core-auxiliary and gently peel off the foam insulator surrounding its surface. The foam insulator and thermal expansion valve-auxiliary should be moved to the replacement Evaporator core-auxiliary before installing both into the rear hvac module-auxiliary. Replace the hvac module-auxiliary case sump by attaching screws to a torque setting of 2 n.m (18 lb in). After the blower motor control processor-auxiliary gets reinstalled the backing plate should be installed to the Evaporator core-auxiliary. Reinstall the Evaporator block-auxiliary after attaching it with inverted torx studs and tightening them to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Finally, install the Heater Core-auxiliary.
