How to replace the front parking brake cable on 2002 GMC Safari?

Start by lifting the vehicle and then loosen the park brake cable at the equalizer. Take the cable off at the park brake cable connector and then set the vehicle back on the ground. Take off the front cable from the lever assembly and take out the cowl side panel trim along with the lever assembly. Take off the step trim plate, lift the rocker panel trim, and pull the carpet back so you can see the park brake cable grommet . Pull the front cable through the body by unclipping it first. When installing, put the grommet onto the body first and clip the cable into place at the kick panel. Attach the cable to the lever assembly and put the lever assembly, cowl side panel, and step trim plate back in place. Re-connect the front cable to where it belongs on the lever assembly, lift the car, and fit the cable into the park brake connector. The last step is to make sure the park brake is adjusted and then drop the vehicle to the ground.
