2003 GMC Envoy Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator for Body VIN Code 6 (GMT 370) on 2003 GMC Envoy?
A: Replacing the Radiator with body vin code 6 (GMT 370) starts with draining coolant before proceeding to remove the lower Radiator support shield if installed. Using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) remove the outlet Radiator Hose by relocating its clamp before disconnecting the transmission cooler lines from the Radiator. The procedure begins with setting the vehicle at a low height before removing the cooling fan with its shroud and then removing the grille. The Radiator maintenance process requires removal of the upper Radiator to condenser bolts and the coolant recovery line from the Radiator followed by lifting the condenser to detach it from the Radiator retaining tab and Radiator removal. Place the new Radiator correctly before fastening the condenser to the retaining tab of the Radiator and connecting the coolant recovery line. Reinstall the bolts on the condenser retention point of the Radiator before tightening them to a torque of 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). Then put back the grille and the cooling fan and shroud. Raising the vehicle lets you connect the outlet Radiator Hose to the Radiator while using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to adjust the outlet Radiator Hose clamp and complete transmission cooler line assembly followed by lower Radiator support shield reinstallation if present. Complete the procedure by reducing the vehicle height while filling the cooling system.
