For replacing the brake pipe, use the J45405 Pipe Flaring Tool Kit (J45405) and also follow safety instructions related to brake fluid irritants and double-walled steel brake pipes to prevent the system failure. Begin with an inspection of the section of the brake pipe, which cannot be left in place and release from the retainers as necessary. Measure the length of the pipe to be dheaded including bends and put the required length required for flare that is 6.35mm (0.250" for0.188-diameter pipe). Use the pipe cutter (also includes in the J45405) to cut the brake pipe squarely to the desired length. Remove the sectioned pipe and choose a right size brake pipe and tube nuts. If necessary, remove the coating of nylon from the ends of the brake pipe by using the coating stripping tool provided in the J45405 without gouging the metal face. Chamfering the inside & outside diameter of the pipe using the de-burring tool accompanying the J45405, tube nuts installation, dirt removal of the brake pipe & J45405, loosening of the die clamping screw of J45405. Place the corresponding die set on the die cage; place the engineered end of the pipe to be flared; make sure the dies are seated well before clamping with a clamping screw. Choose the right forming mandrel and work the lever of the J45405 in creating the flare and loosen the die clamping screw to take out the dies and pipe.
