How to replace the Mass Air Flow Sensor on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

Before replacing the mass air flow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor start by disconnecting its electrical connector and removing the air intake duct hose from the sensor. The maf/iat sensor mount on the air cleaner assembly requires us to remove two screws while maintaining proper handling of the maf sensor to prevent damage and eliminate screen contact or sensor element contamination by solvents or lubricants. A small portion of soap-based solution helps with the sensor installation before removing the outdated maf sensor seal. Install a naw maf sensor seal first then position the maf/iat sensor into the air cleaner assembly with the connector terminal facing upward. The maf/iat sensor assembly needs 2 screws installed before tightening them to 2.25 n.m (20 lb in). To finish the procedure reconnect the air intake duct hose to the maf/iat sensor before plugging in the electrical connector to the maf/iat sensor.
