How to replace the front air bag sensor on 2004 Cadillac SRX?

The SIR system requires disabling before replacing the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (1 6) from the wiring harness connector to the inflatable restraint front end sensor (3,4) while also disconnecting the wiring harness connector (2,5) from the front end sensor (3,4). Left-hand threads exist on the front end sensor mounting fastener (8,9). Following system disablement redo the mounting fastener in the upper tie bar while taking out the inflatable restraint front end sensor (3,4) from this bar. Remove all dirt and grease from the mounting area then place sensor (3,4) flat with its arrow indicating forward vehicle direction. Insert mounting fasteners (8,9) before tightening each one to 9 N.m (80 lb in). The front end sensor (3,4) accepts the harness wiring connector (2,5) while the CPA (1,6) mounts to the wiring harness connector on the front end sensor. Finally, enable the SIR system.
