The process requires avoiding contact with the SIS and double-checking its secure attachment before turning on power to prevent both deployment and potential injuries. Locate the center pillar trim panel while the seat remains in its fully forward position. Remove first the connector position assurance (CPA) from the SIS harness connector then disconnect the harness connector from the SIS. The vehicle requires removal of SIS mounting fasteners for extraction of the SIS from the center pillar. First wash the mounting surface until it is free from contaminants before fastening the SIS into the center pillar through the mount fasteners at a torque of 9 Nm. (80 Pound inches). Connect the harness connector to the SIS after that install the CPA to the SIS harness connector.
