• Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor Front End on 2006 Cadillac SRX?

  A: To replace Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor, SIR system has to be disabled. Do not strike or jolt the sensor and secure it properly before applying power to avoid SIR deployment or personal injury. Pull the connector position assurance (CPA) (1,6) from the wiring harness connector to the inflatable restraint front end sensor (3,4), and then pull the wiring harness connector (2,5) from the front end sensor (3,4). Loosen the front end sensor mounting fastener 8,9 on the upper tie bar, remember, it is left handed, and remove the front end sensor 3,4, from the upper tie bar. Clean the mounting surface off any dirt, grease, or impurities and align the sensor (3,4) horizontally with the arrow facing upward in the front of the vehicle. Mount the fasteners (8,9) and finally fasten the fastener to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Connect the harness wiring connector (2,5) to the front end sensor (3,4) also bolt the CPA (1,6) on the wiring harness connector of front end sensor. Finally, enable the SIR system.
