How to replace the Differential Carrier Assembly on 2004 Cadillac SRX?

To replace the Differential carrier assembly start with collecting the necessary tools: j 44394 seal protector. Jack up the vehicle and loosen the front frame assembly. After removing the front propeller shaft from the Differential, place it aside and remove the right and left front wheels drive shafts. Next, remove the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft support bearing and place a transmission jack under the Differential and strap it in securely. If you decide to remove the front Differential to Oil Pan mounting bolts, then disengage the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft and in front Differential to the Oil Pan. For assembly, install the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft and Differential as a unit while cautiously removing the oil seal from damage. Mount the Differential on the transmission jack and then fasten it then to install the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft and the front Differential to the Oil Pan. Mount the front Differential using Oil Pan mounting bolts and tighten the bolts in sequence 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). Upon removing the transmission jack, you will install the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft support bearing, the left and right front wheel drive shafts, and the final front propeller shaft to the Differential. Check the Differential lubricant level, mount the front frame assembly, and lower the vehicle.
