How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve on 2004 Chevrolet Aveo?

The first step to replace the thermal expansion valve requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then recovering all refrigerant. First remove the liquid evaporator pipe connector block retaining nut at the cowl and proceed by removing the expansion valve connector block retaining bolts before extracting the expansion valve including discarded o-rings. The o-ring surface areas must receive cleaning until free of dirt followed by placement of new o-rings on the evaporator tubes before attaching a new expansion valve to the tubes. Place the expansion valve retaining bolts on their locations before torquing each one to 12 n.m (106 lb in). The cowl opening requires installation of the liquid evaporator pipe connecting block retaining nut which needs to be tightened up to 15 n.m (11 lb in). The negative Battery Cable reattachment should complete the service procedures followed by system evacuation and charging.
