2004 Chevrolet Aveo Steering Knuckle Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the steering knuckle on 2004 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The Steering Knuckle replacement process starts by removing front wheel components such as wheels, caulking nut and Tie Rod End from the knuckle and control arm ball joint before disconnecting the brake caliper and Brake Disc and abs wheel speed sensor (when equipped) and backing plate. Moving on to remove the knuckle assembly requires front strut bolts removal. Start by fastening the knuckle assembly to the front strut with bolts and nuts until torque reaches 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) before using screws at 4 nm (35 inch lbs.) to secure the backing plate. The abs wheel speed sensor goes next before the Brake Disc and caliper installation while the control arm ball joint follows. The last step is securing the Tie Rod End to the knuckle before reinstalling the front wheels.
