  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2004 GMC Envoy?
A: Start by raising and supporting the vehicle until it provides enough clearance to reach the valve through the wheelhouse. After that remove the left wheelhouse liner. Servicer (Plastic Collar) the EVAP purge hose/pipe from both the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve along with the EVAP purge hose. Begin by disconnecting the electrical connector followed by removing the engine bolt and extracting the valve. When installing the new EVAP canister purge solenoid valve position it correctly on the engine following Fastener Notice in Service Precautions before tightening the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in). The EVAP purge hose/pipe must be connected to the valve using Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar). Reattach the electrical connector to the valve.
