  • Q: How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler for the 4L80-E/4L85-E automatic transmission on 2004 GMC Savana 3500?
A: Start by taking out the grille assembly and disconnecting both lines from the Transmission Oil Cooler during transmission fluid auxiliary cooler replacement for the 4l80-e/4l85-e automatic transmission. After detaching the lines from push clips on the Transmission Oil Cooler mounting bracket you need to raise the vehicle. Climb under the vehicle for access to the upper bolts on the Transmission Oil Cooler mounting bracket while you lower the vehicle first. Once this position is reached disconnect the lower bolts from the bracket to remove the Transmission Oil Cooler. To install the Transmission Oil Cooler return it to position inside the vehicle then fasten the upper bracket bolts into position with a torque of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). After raising the vehicle install its lower brackets onto the Transmission Oil Cooler assembly then apply 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) torque followed by vehicle lowering. Attach the Transmission Oil Cooler lines to the Transmission Oil Cooler through its mounting bracket push clips then install the grille assembly.
