The first step to remove the left Exhaust Manifold (LY7) is to turn off the ignition. Start by dislodging the left and right torque strut bracket bolts at the engine strut bracket followed by taking out the exhaust crossover pipe to left bank Exhaust Manifold nuts. The first step involves removing the oil lever indicator alongside the tube before extracting the Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts and finally the heat shield. Discard the worn-out Exhaust Manifold Gasket as you remove both bolts from the Exhaust Manifold. Following inspection of the Exhaust Manifold and its sealing foundation the technician should substitute an original Exhaust Manifold Gasket and apply the Exhaust Manifold. Fasten the Exhaust Manifold bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) while installing the heat shield for the Exhaust Manifold by using bolts at 10 nm (89 inch lbs.).
