How to replace the exhaust heat shield for the catalytic converter on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?

Vehicle elevation and support become necessary before starting the heat shield replacement process on the Catalytic Converter. Support the exhaust system with caution towards the Catalytic Converter movement notice appearing in service precautions. Separate the Catalytic Converter while disconnecting the oxygen sensor wiring harness from its surface on the heat shield. First remove all rivets attaching the heat shield and then uninstall the shield itself. Position the brand-new Catalytic Converter heat shield into its spot and fasten it with rivets for installation. Connect the oxygen sensor wiring harness to the heat shield then reinstall the Catalytic Converter. Before lowering the vehicle check the exhaust system for leaks and underbody contact by removing the support.
