How to Address Issues with the Shift Interlock Solenoid on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?

In order to service the Shift Interlock Solenoid, disconnect the negative battery cable, detach the center console and deface the shift lock actuator electrical connector. Unscrew actuator at the pivot points, remove, and install it back again, reconnect electric connector, and reconnect center console and then replaced battery cable.
