How to replace the steering wheel on 2005 Buick LeSabre?

Begin a Steering Wheel replacement by disabling the sir system. The inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module should be removed before disconnecting the Steering Wheel electrical connector. The weight block on Steering Wheel bases must be removed before you remove the Steering Wheel retaining nut. Mark the Steering Wheel and shaft alignment points to keep the installation correct. Separate the Steering Wheel from the Steering Column by using the Steering Wheel puller legs (J 42578) together with the Steering Wheel puller (J 1859-A). Remove the Steering Wheel next. Route wiring through the Steering Wheel then match alignment marks while reattaching the Steering Wheel. After installing the weight block and Steering Wheel electrical connector the technician must install the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module before enabling the sir system. The process requires a 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) torque setting on the Steering Wheel retaining nut.
