Apply degreaser onto all gasket surfaces followed by valve train components while inspecting valve lifters and cam lobes for signs of wear. Pre-application of lube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or equivalent should coat all valve lifters before putting them back to their original positions. The valve lifter guides should be installed along with their guide bolts which need torque adjustment at 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Finish up by installing the Intake Manifold oil splash shield followed by valve rocker arms and pushrods and finally the lower Intake Manifold.
