How to replace the horizontal seat motor on 2005 Cadillac SRX?

First disable the SIR system by following the proper procedures for Zone 7 () or Zone 9 (). The seat cushion should be removed to access the horizontal seat adjuster motor and disconnect the electrical connectors from the motor. Before extracting out the seat adjuster motor, it is recommended that you pull out the seat adjuster drive cable out of the motor after you have extracted the screws from the top part of the adjuster motor. Also remove the short drive cable from the seat adjuster. As for installation, insert the short drive cable into the seat adjuster in such a way that the square end of the cable is next to the motor and slide the motor onto the cable. Connect the long drive cable into the motor and then into the seat adjuster, making sure that both cables are fully seated. Screw the motor retaining screws and tighten to 5 N.m (44 lb in). Reconnect the electrical connectors and refit back the seat cushion. Finally, implement the SIR system following the procedure for Zone 7 () or Zone 9 (), and in case the vehicle has got memory seats, calibrate the seat respectively.
