We have to protect the mounting place and place the alignment marks to install. Heat the body side molding using the J 25070 Heat Gun (J 25070), with around 152 mm (6 in) from the surface, rotate the gun in a circle, apply heat for approximately 30 seconds. The installation space should be clean; use a lint-free cloth and use the Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha or use a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixture and dry the space. If the molding location is not marked, use tape and make the following measurements: 168mm (6.625 in) from the bottom door at the front, 178mm (7.0 in) from the bottom door at the rear. Check the side molding's body temperature ranging from 29-32°C (85-90°F) and keep away from adhesive back. Carefully remove the protective liner on the back of the molding, set in place in accordance with the marks made, and firmly press the molding to the mounting surface, evenly pressing along the length to ensure bond uniformity. Lastly, peel off the protective tape off the mounting surface.
