2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: The first step is collecting the refrigerant before proceeding with condenser replacement. The maintenance process starts by separating the Radiator and a/c line coupling from condenser to receiver dehydrator connections followed by disconnecting the a/c compressor line nut from the condenser and moving the a/c compressor line to the side. The condenser must be taken out of the vehicle while discarding both o-ring seals and the seal washer. Before installing a new condenser into the vehicle you need to add refrigerant oil to it. Begin by fitting a new a/c compressor hose seal washer and placing new o-ring seals on the receiver dehydrator tube before you attach the receiver dehydrator tube to the condenser. Connect the a/c line coupling to both receiver dehydrator tube and condenser tube before attaching the a/c compressor hose to the condenser. Screw and tighten the a/c compressor hose block fitting nut to the condenser using 16 n.m (12 lb ft) torque. Put the Radiator back in its place followed by evacuating and recharging the a/c system. Use the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to test for leaks in the component's fittings during the last inspection step.
