    A: To change the Steering Knuckle in a rear wheel drive, one should raise and mount the vehicle, followed by the tire and wheel removal, then the Wheel Hub and the bearing. Next, take out the outer tie rod to Steering Knuckle retaining nut, and remove the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle using the steering linkage and tie rod puller (J 24319-B). Use a suitable jack to support the lower Control Arm while you remove the brake hose bracket retaining bolt of the Steering Knuckle. Move on to unseat the upper Ball Joint retaining nut and disengage the upper Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle using the Ball Joint remover (J 43631) and the Ball Joint separator protector adapters (J 45851). Take off the lower Ball Joint retaining nut and separate the lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle by using the same tools. To examine the taper holes and mounting surfaces of the Steering Knuckle for damage, wipe off all grease and contaminant from the upper part of the Ball Joint, lower part of the Ball Joint, and the tie rod end, as well as its taper section and threads. Install new Steering Knuckle positioning Steering Knuckle on the lower Ball Joint to Steering Knuckle retaining nut to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) and the upper Ball Joint to Steering Knuckle retaining nut to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Reattach the brake hose bracket retaining bolt, tighten to 10nm (88 inch lbs.) and then attach the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle and tighten the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle retaining nut to 63nm (47 ft. Lbs.). Finally, take out the safety stand, install the Wheel Hub and bearing, replace the tire and wheel, and lower the vehicle.
