• Q: How to replace the lower intake manifold on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?

  A: Before commencing lower Intake Manifold replacement turn off the ignition so you can remove the air inlet duct. The first step involves removing the fuel pressure and evaporative emission (EVAP) hoses from the engine structure. Then disconnect the baro sensor electrical connector. Engine control module (ECM) electrical connectors should never be removed from service. For ecm bracket removal keep the ecm attached and set both components to the side. First remove the wiring harness from around the right side of the Intake Manifold by disconnecting the purge solenoid electricity link. To proceed with the replacement disconnect the Fuel Injector electrical connector followed by the Throttle Body electrical connector. Disconnect the brake booster's vacuum hose together with its check valve followed by the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the Intake Manifold. Begin by taking out the six Intake Manifold bolts (1-6) and afterward remove the Intake Manifold itself. Separate the Intake Manifold and wash and test the complete components of the intake system including its sealing points. Begin installation by constructing the Intake Manifold according to specifications then mount the pcv hose alongside the manifold to its proper location. First reconnect the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose and check valve to the brake booster before hooking up the Throttle Body electrical connector and Fuel Injector electrical connector. The wiring harness should be mounted on the Intake Manifold right side while tightening both bracket bolts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). The purge solenoid electrical connector installation should be followed by reattaching the ecm bracket and connecting the baro sensor electrical connector to the system. Finish the installation by connecting the fuel pressure and evap hoses to the engine whereas the air inlet duct completes the sequence.
