  • Q: How to replace the lower intake manifold on 2007 Buick LaCrosse?
    A: Start replacement work by turning off the ignition system and removing the air inlet duct. Start by disconnecting the engine's fuel pressure and evap hoses after which you need to disconnect the baro sensor electrical connector but do not disconnect the ecm electrical connectors. Take the ecm bracket and the ecm off and place them aside before performing two disconnects of the purge solenoid electrical connector. The wiring harness must be removed from the right side of the Intake Manifold prior to unconnecting the Fuel Injector electrical connector then the Throttle Body electrical connector. Begin by removing the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose with attached check valve then unconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from brake booster location. Afterward remove all six bolts from the Intake Manifold before removing it. In the Intake Manifold disassembly process remove components as required before cleaning both components along with their contact areas. After assembling the Intake Manifold for installation, connect the pcv hose to the Intake Manifold and install the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose with its check valve to the brake booster. Before completing the Throttle Body electrical connection and Fuel Injector electrical connection ensure you tighten wiring harness bracket bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in) at the right side of the Intake Manifold after installing the wiring harness. First connect the purge solenoid electrical connector then reinstall the ecm bracket with the ecm device before connecting the baro sensor electrical connector and ending with installation of fuel pressure and evap hoses to the engine followed by air inlet duct installation.
