Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2006 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: First remove the fuel pump Fuse, start the engine until it stalls and then crank for 10 seconds to relieve fuel pressure for replacing the Intake Manifold. Remove the negative Battery Cable, drain the coolant from the engine, and remove the connectors for the intake air temperature (IAT), air intake tube from Throttle Body, idle air control (IAC) valve, throttle position sensor (TPS), engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, and heater inlet hose from Cylinder Head. Also disconnect the surge tank coolant suction hose at the Throttle Body, and all the necessary suction vacuum hoses at the Throttle Body Fuel Pressure Regulator and Brake Booster. Take out the Throttle Body cable, fuel injector rail and injectors as an assembly, alternator adjusting bolt, alternator Drive Belt, alternator adjusting bracket bolt, and Intake Manifold support bracket bolts before dismantling the Intake Manifold of and gasket. Cleans the sealing surfaces of Intake Manifold and Cylinder Head and then installs a new Intake Manifold Gasket and Intake Manifold. Tightens the retaining nuts/ bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) under in given sequence. Mount the Intake Manifold support bracket and upper bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and lower bolt to the engine block to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Reconnect the Fuel Rail and injectors, the Throttle Cable, the vacuum lines, the heater inlet hose, the surge tank coolant hose, the alternator adjusting bracket, and its bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Attach the ect sensor, iac valve, tps, air intake tube, and iat sensor connectors and then connect the pcm/ecm ground terminal to the Intake Manifold. Finally, install fuel pump Fuse, reconnect the negative Battery Cable, and re-fill the engine cooling system.
