2006 Chevrolet Cobalt Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: Begin replacing the clutch actuator cylinder by disconnecting the clutch actuator cylinder line followed by transmission removal. Start by removing clutch actuator cylinder bolts from the transmission before taking out both the upper bolt and clutch actuator cylinder. The inside diameter of the bearing requires saturn p/n 21005995 or an equivalent lubricant before installing the clutch actuator cylinder into the transmission. Use a torque wrench to tighten all clutch actuator cylinder bolts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) then torque the upper line release bolt to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Connect the clutch actuator cylinder line before reinstalling the transmission and doing hydraulic system bleeding. Do not apply too much lubricant to input shaft splines because it may pollute the Clutch Disc leading to clutch shudder.
