2006 Chevrolet Corvette Power Steering Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the power steering pump on 2006 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: One must begin Power Steering Pump replacement by dismounting the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) with its bracket then proceed to remove the power steering fluid reservoir and Power Steering Pump pulley. Proceed by eliminating the power steering pressure hose and Power Steering Reservoir outlet pipe/hose from their connections to the Power Steering Pump. Use a socket to remove the three mounting bolts of the Power Steering Pump until the pump along with its front bracket separate from the rear bracket. Attach the Power Steering Pump along with the Power Steering Pump front bracket to the rear bracket by using four mounting bolts and tightening them to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). This procedure requires reattaching the Power Steering Reservoir outlet pipe/hose before you install the power steering pressure hose to the Power Steering Pump while the Power Steering Pump pulley and power steering fluid reservoir are added next. The power steering system requires a bleeding procedure after reconnecting the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) bracket and the bpmv.
