  A: The first step to replace the Intake Manifold involves removing Throttle Body then fuel injectors followed by vacuum brake booster hose then manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor together with evaporative emission (EVAP) purge solenoid vent tubes . Start by removing the Intake Manifold bolts (512) before taking out the Intake Manifold (500). The Intake Manifold gaskets should be thrown away after the previous step. Install new Intake Manifold gaskets on the Intake Manifold (500) then apply a 5 mm (0.2 inch) band of threadlock gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the threads of the Intake Manifold bolts (512). Tighten the Intake Manifold bolts in sequence to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.) for the first pass, then to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) for the final pass. Before placing the installation of evap purge solenoid vent tubes make sure to smear clean engine oil on the MAP Sensor seal lightly. Install the pcv hose while you simultaneously install the vacuum brake booster tube and position the electrical harness across the engine before reinstalling the Throttle Body and fuel injectors.
