How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Before starting master cylinder replacement you need to put the parking brake on then disconnect both the brake pipes and sensor connector. You must put rubber plugs over the brake hose exposed ports to keep brake fluid sealed and protected from external sources. Right after plugging the pipes shift the master cylinder nuts free from its baseplate until the unit comes away. Drain all brake fluid from the master cylinder before you proceed. Before installation you should bench bleed the master cylinder. Fasten the master cylinder mounting nuts with a torque of 36 nm (27 ft. Lbs.). Fit the brake lines together by removing rubber plug seals and tighten each brake pipe connection to 32 nm torque. Attach the master cylinder fluid level sensor connection and remove all air from the brake lines.
