To replace the thermostat on a 4.2L engine take out the coolant radiator and the generator. Unscrew the hose outlet clamp, unscrew the outlet hose and the thermostat housing snaps. Wipe down all surfaces, reset the housing and fix the outlet hose. Install the generator again, refill the cooling system and check any leakages.
