How to Replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on a 2WD Vehicle on 2006 GMC Savana 3500?

Beginning with vehicle lifter operation will prepare you to swap out the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). This repair works only on 2wd vehicles yet 4wd drivers require removal of their Transfer Case's output speed sensor instead. Unplug the output speed sensor connector and detach the bolt to remove the output speed sensor. Check the condition of the output speed sensor unit by removing it along with its mount from the housing. Cover the output speed sensor seal with automatic transmission fluid before placing the output speed sensor and its mounting bracket. Connect the output speed sensor wire while tightening the bolt to 11 nm (96 inch lbs). Finally, lower the vehicle.
