2007 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front disc brake pads on 2007 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: First, raise and suitably support the vehicle to replace the front disc brake pads. Mark the relative positions of the wheel and the hub to ensure that they remained balanced and remove the front wheel. Theres no need to remove the caliper in order to service the brake shoes. Next, unscrew the lower bolt of the caliper assembly retaining frame and lift up the caliper Piston housing while being careful not to let brake dust in. Pull out the brake pads and find the minimum thickness of the line. Mount the new brake pads onto the caliper and push the Piston if needed, without damaging the Piston seal when pulling down the Piston housing. Attach the caliper Piston housing to the retaining frame with the lower bolt, while tightening the retaining frame-to-caliper housing bolts to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). Finally, align the make before wheel removal and install the front wheels before the downing of the vehicle.
