To replace the automatic transmission flex plate, remove the transmission and note the engine flywheel's position. Remove the flywheel bolts and the flywheel. If applicable, use bolts to remove the spacer from the crankshaft. Reinstall the spacer, flywheel, and bolts, applying threadlock and tightening in sequence. Reinstall the transmission.
