2007 GMC Acadia Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and Valve Stem Oil Seal on 2007 GMC Acadia?
A: To work on the valve guide seal start with Starter motor removal. A safety tool called en 46106 (Flywheel Holding Tool) blocks Crankshaft movement because rebuilding the whole Camshaft timing system when the wheel rotates is time-consuming. First take out the camera components with rocker arms until you reach the Spark Plug for that cylinder. Set the j 39313 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the cylinder opening and link it to an air compressor. Position the en 46110 device on top of the cylinder and securely clamp its valve spring compressor nut. Loosen the compressor nut on the en 46110 tool and extract valve spring retainers plus valve springs. The en 46116 component helps to take the valve stem seal out of the system. The valve stem seals enter first through the en 46116 before setting the valve spring and retainer. Place the en 46110 on top of the valve spring then screw its compressor nut before inserting the valve spring keepers. Unplug the en 46110 and pull out the j 39313 from the air source after you take it off the valve spring compressor nut. Reinsert spark plugs and rocker arms then put back camshafts into their proper positions before taking out the en 46106 and setting up the Starter motor.
