2007 GMC Envoy Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator (LH6, LS2) on 2007 GMC Envoy?
A: The first step to replace the Radiator (LH6, LS2) involves draining coolant from the Radiator. Begin the Radiator replacement by taking off the transmission cooler lines from the Radiator while also removing the lower Radiator support shield if it exists. Slide the outlet Radiator Hose releasing clamp with the fan clutch remover and installer (J 41240) device to detach the outlet hose from the Radiator. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to lower the vehicle and reposition the inlet Radiator Hose clamp and then remove the inlet Radiator Hose. First disconnect the cooling fan and shroud and the air inlet grille before detaching the coolant recovery line from the Radiator. First detach the upper Radiator to condenser bolts then lift the condenser to separate it from the Radiator retaining tab before removing the Radiator. Position the new Radiator before connecting the condenser to its retaining tab then tighten the bolts to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Connect the coolant recovery line before installing the cooling fan and shroud together with the air inlet grille. Insert the inlet Radiator Hose to the Radiator before you use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to relocate the inlet Radiator Hose clamp. You should first elevate the vehicle and attach the outlet Radiator Hose to the Radiator before repositioning the outlet hose clamp with hose clamp pliers (J 38185). The process concludes by attaching transmission cooler lines to the Radiator before reinstalling lower Radiator support shield (if equipped) and then lowering the vehicle. The technician will complete the procedure by filling the cooling system.
