The rotatation of the absorber rod must remain prevented during assembly and disassembly procedures. The proper tools for this job should be hand tools. Use a wrench to maintain steady control of the threaded piston rod while dislodging the piston rod nut using the oxygen sensor 22 mm socket (J-44626 (SA9603E)) or a substitute.
