Secure the strut assembly into the km-329-a (KM-329-A) spring compressor by placing its hooks correctly onto the strut spring. Pump down the front spring with the km-329-a (KM-329-A). Using an open-end wrench grasp the threaded piston rod then use the j 42468 (J 42468) tool unit to remove the piston rod nut. Note the spring seat position relative to the strut assembly-to-knuckle bracket so teams can restore it exactly the same way during assembly. Perform sequential removal of the strut mount followed by the Strut Bearing and spring upper seat and spring upper insulator and hallow Bumper and coil spring and strut. Begin with lower spring insulator followed by spring installation and compress the spring using km-329-a (KM-329-A). The installation sequence includes mounting the strut mount followed by the Strut Bearing then the spring upper seat before adding the spring upper insulator and hallow Bumper and coil spring at last installing the strut last. Identify the coil spring's proper position on the coil spring seat followed by a check of the coil spring's installation condition. When assembling the piston rod nut with j 42468 (J 42468) secure the threaded piston rod with an open-end wrench before tightening it to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs).
