Q: How to replace the TPMS Sensor on 2008 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The first step to replace the tire pressure indicator sensor requires vehicle elevation and support. First remove the tire combined with wheel before extracting the tire from the wheel base. Take the torx screw out and gently remove the enclosure from the valve by pulling straight while you cut off the rubber bulb from the stem but maintain the aluminum wheel's clear coating. Connect the tire valve stem mounting tool to the valve stem and thread it through the rim. It is essential to combine the new sensor part with the snap-in tire pressure monitor sensor when replacing the valve mechanism because using the valve alone is impossible and new components must always be employed. Fit a new torx screw to the valve stem while holding it without the core. Secure the new tire pressure sensor snap-in enclosure to the valve stem before tightening the screw until the valve begins to move. Apply gm goodwrench rubber lubricant gm p/n 12345884 (Canadian P/N 5728223) to the valve stem's rubber section and the enclosure surface. Position the tire valve stem mounting tool onto its correct notch then pull the valve stem and sensor along the axis parallel to the valve hole. The valve stem and tire pressure sensor must have a proper installation where the rubber bulb contacts the rim and the front face of the enclosure stays at least 5mm away from the rim. First reinstall the tire to the wheel followed by mounting both tire and wheel assembly onto the vehicle before lowering it. Complete the tire pressure monitor system setup as the last step.
