2008 Chevrolet Corvette Power Steering Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the power steering pump on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: You need to start the Power Steering Pump replacement by taking out both the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) and its bracket and then the power steering fluid reservoir. You must first remove the Power Steering Pump pulley before disconnecting both the Power Steering Reservoir outlet pipe/hose along with the pressure hose from the pump. The Power Steering Pump requires removal of its three mounting bolts which secure it to the rear bracket before the pump and its front bracket can be separated from the rear bracket. Attach the Power Steering Pump and front bracket to the rear bracket according to the fastener notice then install four mounting bolts at 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After proper hose connection between the Power Steering Reservoir outlet and pump you must install the Power Steering Pump pulley then attach the power steering fluid reservoir. To finalize the replacement you must install the bpmv bracket along with the bpmv and conduct a power steering system bleeding operation.
