2008 Chevrolet Express 2500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler in a 4L80-E/4L85-E automatic transmission on 2008 Chevrolet Express 2500?
A: Proper transmission fluid auxiliary cooler replacement for a 4l80-e/4l85-e automatic transmission begins with removing the grille assembly. First disconnect the lines from the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler then detach the lines from their push clips on the mounting bracket. Raise and support the vehicle before removing all lower bracket bolts on the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler then lower the vehicle to access and remove upper bracket bolts. Remove the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler from the vehicle's body. Install the Transmission Oil Cooler into its place but maintain compliance with the fastening instructions. Drive the upper bolts of the Transmission Oil Cooler bracket with a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Add the vehicle up another time to connect the lower bolts onto the Transmission Oil Cooler bracket but maintain the same torque value. Drive the vehicle down and join the Transmission Oil Cooler lines to the additional Transmission Oil Cooler before fastening them into their mounting bracket push clips. Finally, reinstall the grille assembly.
