    A: The first step for changing the right side parking brake rear cable requires releasing the park brake then disabling the automatic adjuster of the park brake cable. Support the vehicle while lifting it from the ground and detach the cable from the equalizer at its present location. You should detach the cable from the Rear Crossmember through locking tab depression when dealing with cargo or passenger vehicles and perform bracket detachment for cutaway vehicles. Proceed by letting the cable pass through the cable guide and then detach the rear axle vent hose clip from the cable (1500 Series). Gently spread open the rear axle clip before finally removing the cable from the differential clip. The installation process requires designers to eliminate the bolt that locks the cable onto the lower shock mount. The cable removal process requires pressuring the spring toward the lever until locking tabs are depressed to free the cable housing from the backing plate and finally pulling the cable through its slot. The park brake cable should be removed from the lever followed by removing the cable from the vehicle. The first step should be cable installation to the vehicle followed by installation of the park brake cable onto the lever. The cable installation process begins with spring compression while pushing towards the lever followed by routing the cable through the backing plate slot then pressing the cable housing into the backing plate until the locking tabs take effect. Complete installation of the cable by connecting it to the equalizer then remove safety stands before lowering the vehicle while activating its automatic adjuster and performing park brake cable adjustments.
