The first step to replace an outer Tie Rod in power steering system requires vehicle elevation and support. Begin by removing the tire and wheel after which you should detach the outer Tie Rod stud retaining nut. The j 24319-b (Steering Linkage and Tie Rod Puller) enables removal of the outer Tie Rod from the Steering Knuckle after loosening its retaining nuts with the jam nut. Take the outer Tie Rod out from its position on the inner Tie Rod. The first step for installation requires attachment of the outer Tie Rod to the inner Tie Rod but the jam nut should remain loose before outer Tie Rod installation to Steering Knuckle begins. Secure the outer Tie Rod retaining nut by applying torque force of 63 nm (47 lb ft). The toe adjustment must be followed by verifying that the power steering gear boot remains free from twisting and checking wheel alignment.
