2010 Buick Lucerne Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator (LGD, LZ9) (3.9L) on 2010 Buick Lucerne?
A: The first step to replace the Radiator of lgd and lz9 (3.9L) involves draining part of the cooling system. You should start by taking away the cooling Fan Shroud assembly followed by removing the condenser line to Radiator retaining bolt. You will need j 38185 - hose clamp pliers to shift the hose clamp from the outlet hose of the Radiator then remove both outlet and inlet hoses. The same procedure is needed for removing the Radiator inlet hose. Before removing the condenser examine both the Radiator and condenser lower attachment points to prevent damage. The condenser needs to be lifted upwards while its lower feet disengage from the Radiator mounting point before removing the Radiator from the vehicle. Place the Radiator into position in the vehicle with proper alignment of the condenser lower feet to the Radiator mounting features. The special length bolts specifically designed for condenser to Radiator end tanks must be used to protect against damage. Place the condenser mounting bolts into position after tightening them to 13 nm (115 lb in). Attach the Radiator outlet hose by using j 38185 - hose clamp pliers while repositioning the clamp. Additionally install the Radiator inlet hose using the hose clamp pliers tool j 38185. Secure the upper Radiator brackets by using upper Radiator bracket bolts and tightening them to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Mount the condenser line onto the Radiator retaining bolt before tightening it to 6 nm (53 lb in). The last step includes putting in the cooling fans while performing a system coolant fill.
