  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2010 Cadillac CTS?
    A: In order to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder, first take off the driver side instrument panel insulator. Loosen the clutch pedal position switch at the electrical connector, the Clutch Master Cylinder push rod off the clutch pedal pin. Then, pull off the clutch fluid reservoir from the cowl and leave it aside. Take the vacuum Brake Booster out but do not unplug the hydraulic hoses to Clutch Master Cylinder. Rotate the Clutch Master Cylinder clockwise 1/8 turn, and remove it from cowl. Unhook the park brake pedal assembly from the instrument panel and lay it to one side and fit a rubber cap over the exposed hose hard point to avoid losing and contamination of fluids. Disconnect the clutch hydraulic hose. The for installation, connect the clutch hydraulic hose making sure that the clutch fluid reservoir connection is at 2 'o clock before inserting the Clutch Master Cylinder into the cowl. Position cutch pedals with the keys of the Clutch Master Cylinder housing, align with the tabs of clutch pedal bracket and swing the clutch to a cutch master to a counterclockwise direction by about 1/8 turn until fullyinstalled in its position with the clutch fluid reservoir hose arrangement to be at the top at the vertical position of 12 o'clock. Replace the vacuum Brake Booster and the clutch fluid reservoir back to the cowl. Put the Clutch Master Cylinder push rod on the clutch pedal pin and tighten it. Inspects for the appropriate clutch pedal action and operation and then reinstall the driver side instrument panel insulator. Finally, bleed the system of the clutch hydraulic system.
